Our Story
When co-Founders Dr. Rachael Finnerty and Marc Pelland began their careers over 20 years ago - they would not have predicted a joint venture. There was limited shared ground at that time between a music therapist and technologist. 2025 presents a different story. We saw firsthand how the limited and fragmented tools as well as the administrative burden when providing online therapy.
Many therapists who are providing online services are balancing a website host to communicate their services, a practice management software, and a virtual meeting space provider. Resonia combines all of these components as a comprehensive software solution - that is built to meet the unique needs of therapists across modalities. In other words - for therapists who incorporate music listening, music making, drawing, visuals etc., Resonia is equipped with tools to enhance the delivery of online therapy. By combining their years of experience in healthcare and technology, Rachael & Marc are mindfully working with the benefits of technology without compromising therapeutic interventions.

Dr. Finnerty brings extensive expertise in therapeutic practice, research, and education, with specialized knowledge and experience in music therapy. As a Registered Psychotherapist, credentialed music therapist and advocate for evidence-based interventions, she leads Resonia's vision to support therapists across all modalities while pioneering innovations in online music therapy technology.

Marc brings over 20 years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, and digital transformation. He has led technical teams in building scalable healthcare and education technology platforms with a focus on security and user experience.
